Want HitFilm on Mac? Check out our Kickstarter campaign »

A new HitFilm 1.1 update has been released! There aren't many changes but what is there is pretty cool. Check out the changelog:

• Dolby Digital audio decoding now supported for AVCHD.
• Major improvements to AVCHD video decoding performance
• Ultimate exclusive: New Derez effect, created for the Video Game High School web series

If you've been having performance issues with AVCHD or if you've been unable to hear sound, this is the update you want.

You'll be notified of the update and given a link the next time you run the software. We have, of course, also updated the demo downloads.

Note: If you've already installed the beta from last week you don't need to install this update, because you've already got it. Thanks for testing! :)

We've also added the new Derez effect, which was developed specifically for Freddie Wong's Video Game High School series. There's also a brand new tutorial to go with it:

Have fun. :)

So, if the the beta from last week is the same as this release, why does the derez effect now work for me although it kept crashing in the beta? anyways, it finally works, yay!

Robin: we updated the beta halfway through. The first version of the beta had a glitch, the second didn't. The beta blog was updated with the info but it was probably easy to miss!

Is the demo download a way to update the client as well? (I've blocked the program from internet access, so it can't check)

Yep, the demo download will work for you, Biq. The same installer is used, so if you Activate the demo, then you'll be back up and running with the latest full version.

It's like three, three, three effects in one! And probably a lot more than that.

Biq/Axel - in fact, I don't think you'll even need to re-activate. If you download and install the latest demo over an older already-activated full version, it'll just update without asking you to re-activate. I think that's how it works, anyway.

Bought the software a week ago and I simply love it! It is a great start, plus after effects tutorials sometimes work for hitfilm.
