So my point is that I was looking at hitfilm the same age as TimmyD so HA

I'm sorry but I find you weird. It has become obvious that you created this thread solely to argue. Whilst we have been joking about how old we are, you see no humour in it and are trying to prove something, but what? Adult dominance? Do you not like the fact that most people here are adults? It's strange. Also, it's people who behave like you who threaten to disrupt awesome communities such as this one.

P.S. I'm only 13.

P.P.S You said you found it whilst you were 9 and then bought it two years later when you were 12. In case you haven't realized, 9+2=11 NOT 12. SHEESH.

I was making films since i was around 4-5 years old. I've been using fxhome software since i was 11-12. Age doesn't matter, it is just the skill that matter. If you are alright at making films when you are 12 you will be brilliant when you are older.

(freddiew's video he made when he was 15 was not good, but now he is brilliant!)

i don't know what i am trying to say, but hey, lol

good luck with ur filming though!

12 and using HitFilm!?!?!?!?

Why when I was your age we didn't have bicycles. I had to go out in the woods, chop down a tree, and whittle myself one. Sometimes all we had to play with was a paper bag, and we liked it! No sir not one complaint.

12 and using HitFilm......actually it's way cool.

HitFilm's only been out for 1 year, so you can't have waited quite that long.

Always good to see people going the legit route rather than the pirated route, though. It's appreciated.

No disrespect intended, but you aren't that special.

As has been said, other young people did begin with Fxhome products years ago.

Continuously asking for a prize just because you think you are entitled to it is a bit rude.

Use your time to learn Hitfilm more so you can use your skills to enter Hitfilm competitions and possibly win a prize.

Sorry, but the only prizes you get tend to be because you won a film competition. So wait for the next one, make and entre your a film into it, then if you come first you can get a prize!
You can't get one just because you are young, if you did get one, many people would be annoyed as lots of people started when they were young, so therefore they would also want a prize, it's just not very fair giving prizes out to, no offence here, to someone who may not be any good at film making.
On that note, have you made any films with hitfilm,, I'd be interested to see what you are doing at age 12

Good luck

i doubt you did that on purpose! haha, but anyway...

If you want to think of an idea for a film make a spider diagram/mind map on genres and things you like, then try and string a rough story together with the points you have created under a certain genre.
Or watch other films, take aspects of those films you like (only take one aspect, or a couple, as if you just do a film like the one you watched, it won't be original.
So you can watch a short film, then take a prop of of the short film, then modify it a bit to suit your film. Then watch an effect in a film, and give the prop that effect.

Example:
Prop: Speaker
Effect: shockwave

So when someone turns the speaker on, the vibrations cause a shock wave, , and then the shockwave can be used to shield bullets being fired at you, or if angled down you could fly with it (bit like that bloke of X-men first class) or you could use the speakers shockwave as a weapon and when the shockwave hits people they get thrown backwards.

This should of helped.
(And you will be able to do those effects on hit film i believe!)

Good advice Flexhi! If you have a camera and hitfilm you can make anything you want- it doesn't have to be a feature with loads of actors and set pieces- start making films in your back garden or in a park with your friends or family- that's how a lot of people start and you grow from there. Any experience with film making is good experience- even if the film turns out to be bad or your effects didn't work how you imagined you can still take tips from this and learn how to work on them in the future. For example- i did a costume test recently (it's on the forums in a couple of places) and we shot it over two days- the first day we ended up having about 20 odd minutes of good footage- we thought for the next days shoot that we would be filming less so we wouldn't need to clear a card. Turns out that we ended up filming more and only just managed to get most of the shots we wanted to complete the test. I then went out and bought a spare sd card for a short film we shot the weeks after. A test we did with my brothers was invaluable in knowing what to do on the day and what to prepare for when you're working on more serious stuff with professionals.
Good luck and be sure to share what you come up with!
